S'mores Blondie Bars
I found this recipe on a site called Creativemeinspiredyou, but it was originally from a magazine. It is definitely a recipe that I will continue to make for future events. It's easy, pretty quick, and doesn't require a lot of ingredients. It can also be altered to fit the ingredients you have on hand. Did I mention it's ooey, gooey, and yummy? So yummy that I doubled my recipe so that I could have more, however the ingredient list and recipe that follows is for one regular batch (you can also double it if desired). All the pictures shown are of the doubled batch.
Here's what you need:
What to do:
1. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
2. Add in the vanilla and the egg and mix until blended. Then add in the graham cracker crumbs, then the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Once the dough is mixed well spray 8x8 pan with cooking spray (you can also: grease with butter, use a sheet of parchment paper or a piece of tin foil with flaps out on the side, then spray with cooking spray for easy lift out of the pan)
4. Take about 3/4 of your dough (doesn't have to be exact) and put it into the pan. Press the dough into the pan. (Picture shown is of a 9x13 pan for my doubled batch.
Here's what you need:
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup crushed graham crackers (or graham cracker crumbs)
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips (you can also use 3 whole chocolate bars if desired)
- 1 7 oz. jar marshmallow fluff or creme
What to do:
5. Top the dough with the marshmallow fluff until it's mostly covered.
6. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the fluff. You can also use candy bars instead if desired.
7. Now take remaining dough and pat small pieces of it into pancake-like shapes and scatter them on top of the chocolate chips.
8. Bake for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees until golden brown. Let them cool when they come out of the oven. Cut into squares and enjoy!
